Mending the Rift

So as it should be obvious, the Rift is not taking the pressing in of the other universe well. It's started to splinter, and that's a bad bad thing. If it continues, it could rip the universe in half and collapse everything.

So it's time for some emergency procedures. Luckily, while Rose has been missing, she's been working on just that with her metacrisis. She's also had a bit of a meeting of the minds with another Doctor on the case, [livejournal.com profile] onlytheblue. They've come up with a way to fix the rift's damage, and maneuver the universe into a slightly better position...but to do that they're going to need help.

That's where you come in!

There will be three groups in this process: One who will be going back to the forming of the weak spot that will eventually be the rift to manipulate its position just slightly, one who will be going to the Medusa Cascade to use the crack in the universe to manipulate the position of the other universe just a bit, and one that will remain in the present and make sure everything works.

There will be three TARDISes for this.

[livejournal.com profile] onlytheblue's TARDIS will be going to the Medusa Cascade. Within it will be only the Doctor and [livejournal.com profile] huffpuffblonde. Their part is pretty straight forward, so we'll leave it to them to plot out.

[livejournal.com profile] lone_defender's TARDIS will be going to a point on Earth in the far past, to go adjust the rift. This part is more dangerous, because no one knows what caused the weak spot, and there's a greater likelihood of interference. Spoiler: There will be interference. Anyone who's coming along to help will be piling into Rose's TARDIS with her metacrisis. There's plenty of room in the console room to do that.

The last TARDIS will need to be donated, but I imagine it will be [livejournal.com profile] tenthdoc's TARDIS, who will remain near to and monitoring the rift for trouble. There may just be trouble.

I'll be putting up an IC post for people to choose teams and play it out in, but feel free to mention who you'll be going with here.

When all is said and done, if the universe doesn't collapse, the rift will be moved a microscopic amount: enough to let the other universe pass by it, and enough to ruin the rift monitors, but not enough to be otherwise noticeable. The other universe will be closer, as well...but it remains to be seen what that means for everyone in this universe.

Everyone ready? /Roll out!
